Las Palmitas Mexican Restaurant – Restaurant Review
I’m always on the lookout for cheap and good places to eat, especially ones so close to where I work, so I was thrilled to find Las Palmitas. If you don’t know its here, it isn’t easy to find – It is inside the old Tiffany Square Mall, which is now an office building and a church (or something.)
I arrived with two friends (both Marks) at around 11:15. There was only one other table sat that early, so we were seated right away. I ordered the Chorizo Burrito off of the lunch menu, as well as Horchata to drink.
Considering how few people were there when we arrived, it took a very long time for us to get our food, about 10 minutes. In the meantime, we munched on chips and salsa. Finally, the food arrived!
I’ve had the Machaca Burrito here before, and it was excellent. Unfortunately, I wasn’t so impressed with the Chorizo. Inside the burrito, the Chorizo was burnt. Some of it was actually burnt to the point of being crispy. I ate it anyways, and it was ok, but not great.
I loved the Horchata. It’s sort of a milky, rice based drink (with extra sugar). Delicious. It reminds me a lot of rice pudding.. liquefied.
If you order off the lunch menu, Las Palmitas is very cheap – You can fill up for 7 bucks or so. Although my experience today wasn’t spectacular, they do have some great food. I’ll be back to try some more stuff, I’ll just avoid the Corizo Burrito next time!
